Clear answers about insurance, medical visas, treatment costs and how we coordinate your care from East Africa to world-class hospitals.
We do not process claims directly, but we help you collect the hospital invoices, medical reports and discharge summaries most insurers need. We can also introduce you to hospitals that have direct billing agreements with major international insurers.
Many of our partner hospitals accept international health insurance and can provide a Good Faith Estimate for pre-authorization. Coverage depends on your policy, so we recommend sharing your insurance card or policy number early so we can check eligibility before you travel.
Most patients pay out of pocket. We provide an itemized cost estimate before you book anything, and many hospitals accept bank transfer, credit card or instalment plans arranged through our finance team.
Once our medical team reviews your records and confirms a treatment plan, the receiving hospital issues a Medical Invitation Letter (MIL). We send you the letter along with supporting documents and a step-by-step visa checklist for your destination embassy.
Hospital invitation letters are usually ready within 2–5 business days after your specialist consult. Embassy processing times vary by country and season, typically 5–15 business days. We track both stages in your patient portal.
Most hospitals issue the invitation letter based on a confirmed appointment and a deposit or full estimate acceptance. The exact requirement is shared with your cost estimate so there are no surprises.
The first estimate is based on your medical records and the specialist's initial review. Final costs can change if your condition requires additional tests, a different procedure or a longer stay. We update the estimate at every stage and require your approval before any extra spend.
A typical estimate covers hospital fees, doctor and surgeon fees, routine diagnostics, standard room charges, surgery or procedure costs, and in-hospital medications. It does not usually include flights, accommodation, meals outside the hospital, companion expenses or post-discharge medicines taken home.
No. We work with itemized, hospital-direct estimates. If additional services are recommended during treatment, your case manager explains the cost and gets your written approval before proceeding.
Payments are made directly to the hospital or through Fayo Global Care's escrow arrangement, depending on the destination. We guide you through the secure transfer and provide receipts for insurance or tax records.
Simple cases can move from records review to travel in 2–3 weeks. Complex cases involving multiple specialists or visa processing may take 4–8 weeks. Your case manager gives you a realistic timeline after the first review.
